This proposal details a transformative project encompassing a rear extension, strategic internal alterations, and a thoughtful re-design of the front yard bin enclosure.

The existing dwelling presents a common challenge: two rear bedrooms with limited garden access and visual connection. Our design addresses this by envisioning a more integrated and fluid relationship between the kitchen, dining, and living spaces and the garden. The aim is to forge a harmonious open area that significantly enhances both the aesthetic and experiential qualities of the interior.

Beyond the rear, the design prioritises kerb appeal and practicality at the front, proposing a more organised bin area and improved access. Internally, the existing bathroom will be reimagined, giving way to a well-considered en-suite shower room and a dedicated guest bathroom. A distinctive feature is the guest room or study, which offers tranquil views into a small atrium, providing a unique connection to nature within the urban fabric.

The proposed extension, contingent on planning permission, structural design, and license to alter, is conceived to establish a seamless connection with the amenity area. It will be bathed in natural light, courtesy of generously sized, full-height windows and strategically placed roof lights. The open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area is articulated into two distinct zones. The kitchen and dining area are specifically designed with a more generous ceiling height and enhanced natural light, amplified by a large flat roof skylight, creating a bright and inviting communal space.
